Review speed, management and electrical protection
After power, review access and uplink speeds plus appropriate management functions such as VLANs, monitoring and quality of service where the project requires them. These features support separation, troubleshooting and organised phone or Wi-Fi operation.
Place the switch in a ventilated rack or suitable location, and review grounding, electrical protection and backup power for the site. A correct PoE budget cannot compensate for poor cabling, excessive heat or frequent power loss.
